Brown Rice

This pure, unhulled grain product has a mild, nutty taste and is perfect for countless dishes. Only the outer shell of the grains is ground away, so that the natural properties are better preserved. Brown rice is a whole grain rice but spoils more quickly because the bran and germs normally removed in the production of white rice contain perishable fats. Brown rice and white rice contain the same amount of calories and carbohydrates

Preparation method:

1. Put the brown rice and possibly some water in a pan of boiling water
2. Stir the rice once the water is boiling again. Then let it simmer for 15 minutes (or 18 minutes for a softer grain) in a closed pan
3. Remove the pan from the heat and drain the rice with a lid, or in a sieve or colander
4. Let the rice evaporate. Stir before serving
