Sweet and Sour Sauce Mix

This mix is ready to use the mix for the sweet and sour sauce. This sauce can be used as a dipping sauce for fried spring rolls or tempura shrimps. This mix is the basis for the Escabeche dish. This dish is a dish with poached or fried fish covered with this sweet and sour sauce. In addition to fish, you can also use chicken, rabbit or pork. What we recommend is to use tempura flour to fry the meat or fish.

How to use:

  • Dissolve the content of pouch in 180 ml pineapple juice of water
  • Bring to boil and simmer, stirring constantly for 2 minutes

Recipe idea: Escabeche

Ingredients:

  • 1 pouch Mama Sita's sweet and sour sauce dissolved in 187ml
  • 1 ml in Mama Sita's Pure Labuyo
  • 500 gr fish (or chicken breast, pork, rabbit)
  • 48 gr cornstarch
  • 4 gr chopped garlic fried
  • 120 gr onion, sliced
  • 8 g Ginger (sliced thin)
  • 50 g paprika, red (cut into ¾ "(2 cm) cubes)
  • 50 g carrots, thinly sliced
  • 250 ml oil for deep frying
  • 50 g cucumber, cut into cubes (optional)
  • 1 g peppercorns (optional)

How to cook:

  • Coat fish with cornstarch. Deep-fry. Drain and set aside
  • Sauté garlic, onion, ginger, bell pepper, carrot, and cucumber. Add peppercorns and Mama Sita’s Labuyo Sauce
  • Stir in the dissolved Mama Sita’s Sweet and Sour Sauce Mix, increase the heat and cook for 5 minutes or until the sauce thickens
  • Add the fish and simmer for about 2 minutes
  • Serve hot
