What is peanut butter?

Peanut butter is a bread spread and made from very finely grounded peanuts. The name peanut butter probably comes from the form in which it was previously available. The reason why the name Peanut butter was chosen in the Netherlands arises from the period of 1950 when Peanut butter was brought onto the Dutch market. However, the name butter had been claimed by the company that had made real butter, so the name Peanut cheese was used as a market name.
