Soto Ayam Bumbu

Also called Soto Ajam or Saoto Ajam is an Indonesian meal soup of chicken. As is often the case with Asian dishes, there is no real recipe, this can vary by region in Indonesia. What often happens is that the stock is made on the basis of chicken and that the ingredients are presented raw at room temperature on the table in various bowls. The idea is that everyone can choose their own filling and pour it over with the hot stock. Often fried onions or garlic are sprinkled on top of the stock before eating. As a filling is often used glass vermicelli, bean sprouts, chicken, boiled egg, boiled potato slices, spring onion, celery. This can of course be filled in according to your own idea.

How to cook:

  • Bring chicken breast or chicken thighs or a chicken leg of 500 gr to the boil in 800 ml water
  • Then add a bag and let the stock simmer for 10 minutes
  • Remove the chicken from the pan and let it cool for a while. If you use a chicken leg, fry it with the skin on after cooking in the oil
  • Pick the chicken or cut it into small pieces
  • Soak the glass noodles in warm water, wash the bean sprouts, and cut the other vegetables into pieces that are not too small.
  • Choose the ingredients you want in your soup and pour the hot stock over the ingredients.
  • Sprinkle fried pieces of onion and garlic over it
