Candle Nuts

This is the flesh of the nut of the Aleurites moluccana tree. If you see the nut for the first time, it reminds you of a hazelnut. Since the shell of the nuts is almost impossible to break, they are almost always sold peeled. These nuts cannot be eaten raw as they are slightly poisonous.
