Rice paper

Rice paper are sheets originally made from rice flour, salt and water. Nowadays, the combination of rice flour and tapioca flour is increasingly used to make the sheets slightly elastic. The rice flour is mixed with water and sour and then spread super thin. It is then steamed and placed to dry on narrow strips of woven bamboo. This also gives the beautiful braided print on the rice sheets. Cold Vietnamese spring rolls are often made from these sheets. Before processing, the paper must be soaked briefly so that it becomes smooth and sticky. It can be fried, steamed or eaten cold.

How to use:

  • Place the sheets one by one in a flat dish with lukewarm water until slightly soft
  • Place the sheets on a platter and cover with chicken, shrimp, omelette tofu or omelette
  • Add crunchy vegetables, herbs and glass noodles to this.
  • Fold the spring rolls tightly and closed
