Miki's Ube Powder

Miki's · Purple Yam Powder · 100 g

Miki's Ube Powder is a versatile ingredient for Filipino sweet dishes. Made from purple yam, the powder adds a distinctive purple colour and a subtle sweet flavour to desserts, cakes and ice cream.

Ube is a tuber found in Africa and Asia. In Filipino cooking, purple yam is used in ube halayá, a sweet paste, and halo-halo, a shaved-ice dessert featuring ingredients such as fruit, condensed milk and coconut. Use this powder to prepare a base for these treats.

Serving suggestion

Use homemade ube paste in cakes or ice cream, or spoon some onto halo-halo and finish with whipped cream.
