Frozen Curcuma

Also known as turmeric or turmeric. I cut the rhizome into pieces and frozen. Besides the taste, turmeric is also popular for giving off a yellow color.

Koenjit or turmeric

This 1 cm tropical rhizome comes from the tropical plant Curcuma Longa, family of the ginger plant. Koenjit gives a yellow color and a very clear aroma. Koenjit is also a replacement for the very expensive saffron. The turmeric is simmered in curries or finely ground in bumbu and pastes. The fresh tumeric is also used to make nasi kuning. The carrot is then scraped and then squeezed.
