Silver Swan Cane Vinegar is a Filipino vinegar made with fermented sugarcane juice. Cane vinegar has a mild, slightly malty flavour and may have an amber hue. Despite being made from sugarcane, it is not necessarily sweeter than other types of vinegar.
Vinegar is produced through fermentation: sugars are first converted into alcohol and then into acetic acid. Cane vinegar is used in a variety of Filipino dishes. The name sukang iloko also refers to a type of Filipino cane vinegar, although it has not been confirmed that this particular Silver Swan product is that variety.
Use to add flavour to Filipino marinades or as a base for a dipping sauce with garlic and chilli.
