Lengua de ube

These cookies are made from butter, flour, sugar and eggs and milk. The biscuits have an oblong oval shape and are very thin and crispy. The Ube Lengua is an "ube-fied" version of their regular lengua cookies. Instead of the pale yellow, buttery color, it now has a vibrant purple color because of the ube. And of course these new cookies also taste more like ube.

Ube carrot

The root is a tuberous crop also known as yam. The Ube root comes from Africa and Asia. The tubers vary in size. The Purple jam is used in various desserts, there are also different types of ice cream with purple jam and in combination with coconut. It is also available as halaya in the Philippines. This is a kind of jam. One of the dishes in which ube is used is the very popular halo-halo dessert from the Philippines. This is a shaved ice dessert with fresh fruit, purple jam, cream, condensed milk and coconut.
