Longan in syrup

This fruit is similar to the lychee and comes from the same plant family. The round fruits grow in hanging trusses and have a diameter of 2.5 to 4 cm. The skin is thin, less rough than that of the lychee, and when ripe yellow-brown to light red in color. The fruits can be eaten fresh from the hand. This fruit is produced in Myanmar, southern China, Taiwan, Vietnam, and Thailand. The fruits are also grown outside of Asia in Australia and America.
