Ma Hwa Cookies

These cookies are known in the Philippines as Pilipit which in Filipino means "turned", and that is exactly what these cookies are. The cookies can be made from flour or rice flour. The cookies are fried and coated with sugar or syrup on the outside. The biscuits are crunchy, but are also sometimes available in a soft version.
