Duryea Maizena

Duryea Maizena is a household name, who does not know maizena. Duryea was the first to market corn starch. 100% pure corn starch of the very best quality. You can easily prepare a real vegetable sauce in 5 minutes. Starch has the property of swelling and binding the water when it is mixed in water and then boiled. Preparation method

1. Stir 1 spoon of Maizena into 2 tablespoons of cold water
2. Add stirring to the dish
3. Bring the dish to the boil until the desired binding is achieved

Recipe: Vegetable sauce

1. Take 35 g (3 tbsp) cornflour, 300 ml milk, knob of butter and salt and pepper.
2. Mix the 3 tbsp cornflour with half a cup of cold milk into a paste. 
3. Heat the remaining milk together with the knob of butter in a saucepan until it boils.
4. Add the paste to it and bring it back to the boil while stirring.
5. Continue to cook until the desired sauce thickness is achieved.
6. Add salt and pepper to taste.
7. This original white vegetable sauce is served over your vegetables.

Tips

• Jus, sauces and tied soups can also give you the desired binding in the same way.
• If you use cold milk instead of cold water, the taste will become creamier
• Flattened tablespoon of cornflour is approx. 8 gr.

Variation Tip for cheese sauce

• Add 100 gr. mature grated cheese to the vegetable sauce
• Add an extra cup of milk and to taste salt, pepper, nutmeg.
• Cook the whole for about 1 minute.

Variation Tip for curry sauce

• Add 3 tbsp curry powder to the vegetable sauce.
• Add an extra cup of milk for a delicious creamy taste.
